Rethink how you make money. Overpricing water will do more harm than good.

It might sound that lowering room prices while CHARGING EXTRA for a spa or overpricing water is wise business strategy.
STOP it right there. You are destroying your business.
NO ONE likes hidden costs.
You will earn more but it’s going to be DESPERATE money.
Your guests will conclude your hotel is NOT WORTH even that given price because of all the additional charges.
They will feel TRICKED and stupid. And it’s going to permanently DESTROY the trust and reputation you’ve built or you’re after.
And by using this strategy, you’re basically saying YOU KNOW your hotel isn’t worth it, so you need to play dirty.
Ironically, guests will even have an impression of being overpriced. That is because they didn’t get what they thought they were getting for their money.
It’s better to promise less and then over deliver than it is to build up expectations but disappoint in reality.
This is NOT to say every hotel should be all included. Not at all!
You decide for yourself how you make money. It’s none of your guests’ business as long as they are taken care of and feel safe with you, emotionally and financially, but EVERYTHING COUNTS.
Charge your main service the most and let your guests choose you DESPITE the price. Rest of the things charge appropriately, in a way that DOESN’T surprise your guests.
SURPRISE them with something BETTER, not additional charges.
Focusing on price is an EXCUSE not to focus on real value that you provide.
